The second day of the Jaipur Music Stage 2022 on 11th March at Hotel Clarks Amer, Jaipur, was a magnificent display of authentic Folk and Sufi music. The programme included two sensational performances that resurrected the joy of live music for all and sundry in the pink city.
The 15th edition of the music festival, which takes place amidst the Jaipur Literature Festival every year, continues to showcase an exclusive lineup of eminent artistes. Day 2 featured the Sufi Folk singer Mooralala Marwada, hailing from Janana village of Kutch District in Gujarat, India; and the Kutle Khan Project, a unique collective of Rajasthani Folk musicians highlighting Kutle Khan, a multi-talented artiste who has performed on various stages across the world.
Talking about the festival, Mooralala Marwada said, “It has always been an honour for me and the team to perform at the Jaipur Music Stage. It is extremely crucial and necessary for all of us to leave our homes and engage in such an event. This is the best post-pandemic offering anyone could obtain or delight in. We’re thrilled to be a part of such an event this year. ”
On performing at the Jaipur Music Stage 2022, Kutle Khan said, “Being part of such a vast programme is truly awe-inspiring. After two years since the outbreak, we are thrilled to be part of the event. We hope that everyone can feel the music through their nerves and enjoy themselves to the fullest whilst listening to our melodies. This year, as the Festival takes on a hybrid avatar, we’ve created a new sound with a Rajasthani tinge that we’re very keen to perform on stage”.
The spectacular evening brought together people from all corners of the city – including music lovers, locals and literati attending the Jaipur Literature Festival, for a memorable show that celebrated the diversity and vibrant heritage that Indian music has to offer.
