Ultra Media Lights Up IFFI 2025 Carnival Parade with a Grand Tableau Celebrating Guru Dutt and Classic Indian Cinema

Goa, 29th November 2025: Ultra Media & Entertainment Group lit up the IFFI 2025 Carnival Parade with one of the most talked-about tableaux of the evening a dazzling homage to Indian cinema that seamlessly blended nostalgia, legacy, and digital innovation. As the festival opened in Goa with vibrant cultural fanfare, Ultra’s cinematic floater stole the spotlight, celebrating 100 years of Guru Dutt while showcasing Ultra’s own four-decade evolution from VHS-era pioneer to a multi-OTT entertainment powerhouse.

The festival commenced with an inspiring inauguration by Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, who symbolically watered a Tulsi plant reaffirming IFFI’s commitment to cultural values and sustainable practices. As one of India’s longstanding custodians of cinematic heritage, Ultra was honoured to contribute to this landmark opening with a floater that celebrated both classic Indian cinema and the digital future it continues to inspire.

Ultra’s tableau brought together two compelling stories a centenary tribute to Guru Dutt, one of India’s greatest filmmakers, and a showcase of Ultra’s four-decade journey from VHS pioneer to digital entertainment leader. Through immersive backlit visuals, life-size installations, and interactive digital elements, the floater highlighted Ultra’s evolution while honouring the artistry that shaped Indian cinema across generations.

The first segment of the tableau paid homage to Guru Dutt on his 100th birth anniversary, recreating the timeless emotion and visual grammar of classics such as Pyaasa, Chaudhvin Ka Chand, Kagaz Ke Phool, and Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam. The iconic interplay of light, shadow, expression, and poetry trademarks of the Guru Dutt school of cinema was brought alive in a breathtaking visual montage that resonated deeply with festival attendees.
The second segment illustrated Ultra’s transformation into a multi-platform digital powerhouse. Through dynamic visuals and digital screens, the tableau presented the company’s expanding OTT ecosystem Ultra Play for Hindi films and series, Ultra Jhakaas for Marathi entertainment, and Ultra Gaane for music lovers. This marks a major milestone in Ultra’s mission to bring diverse, regional Indian stories to audiences across the globe.

Speaking about Ultra’s presence at IFFI 2025, Mr. Sushilkumar Agrawal, Chairman & CEO, Ultra Media & Entertainment Group, said “Guru Dutt’s centenary tribute represents our deep respect for a filmmaker whose work continues to illuminate Indian cinema. At Ultra, we have spent over four decades preserving stories, formats, and memories. Our tableau reflects this journey from analogue to digital from VHS and DVDs to multiple OTT platforms”

Commenting on Ultra’s digital expansion, Mr. Rajat Agrawal, COO & Director, Ultra Media & Entertainment Group, added “Today’s OTT audiences seek content that is rooted in culture, diversity, and authenticity. With Ultra Play, Ultra Jhakaas, Ultra Gaane, and now our upcoming OTT platforms, we are building a multi-language content universe that celebrates India’s film legacy while embracing today’s digital storytelling. Ultra’s strength has always been its ability to honour the old while pioneering the new and this tableau captures that essence perfectly.”

Ultra’s tableau was widely appreciated by delegates, filmmakers, and festival audiences for its seamless blend of nostalgia and innovation. As the IFFI carnival parade set the tone for a week of world-class cinema, Ultra reaffirmed its role as both a guardian of India’s cinematic past and a catalyst for its digital future.
