VFS Global Academy partners with BorderPlus to train workforce for global careers

Mumbai, 18th Aug: VFS Global Academy, a leading institution for training professionals in travel, hospitality and related services, has announced a strategic partnership with BorderPlus, BorderPlus, a workforce mobility platform that enables Indian talent to access global opportunities.  As part of this partnership, VFS Global Academy will deliver a tailored programme for candidates who have already been selected and have their documentation in place, equipping them with the skills needed for their professional journey.

To assist BorderPlus candidates, monthly Pre-Departure Orientation (PDOT) and Soft Skill Training sessions will be conducted at six VFS Global Academy centres across India. These structured programmes will help selected candidates understand cultural norms, workplace expectations, and everyday systems in their new countries, ensuring they are well-equipped to integrate, adapt, and thrive from day one.

Commenting on the partnership, Mayank Kumar, CEO & Co-Founder, BorderPlus, said, “At BorderPlus, we’re building a seamless global journey for students, from intent to integration. This partnership with VFS Global Academy is a meaningful step in that direction, bringing trusted expertise into our ecosystem. By combining their leadership training and documentation services with BorderPlus’s strength in workforce readiness, we’re positioned to deliver a truly holistic, end‑to‑end support system. For us, it’s not just about talent mobility, it’s about preparing them to thrive professionally as well as culturally abroad.” As part of the process, we will conduct the necessary checks, from documentation verification to authenticating educational qualifications, employment history, and proof of address, ensuring that applicants’ records are reviewed to professional standards.

According to Nirbhik Goel, CHRO, VFS Global, “We are proud to support BorderPlus by delivering Pre-Departure Orientation (PDOT) and soft-skills training at our six VFS Global Academy centres across India. These programmes help the mobile workforce gain a broader understanding of cultural norms and workplace expectations enabling easier integration and success.”

BorderPlus aims to train and place over 15,000 nurses overseas in the next five years. As BorderPlus expands into more cities, it will operate from dedicated VFS Global Academy centres, transforming them into student-facing BorderPlus finishing schools. These centres will serve as key hubs where students receive seamless support and hands-on training under one roof.
