November 25, 2025; Mumbai: Wavar, one of India’s fastest-growing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) companies, has announced a strategic partnership with Renovate India to launch the Samruddha Shetkari Prakalp, a large-scale initiative aimed at improving farmer profitability, soil health, and long-term agricultural sustainability across Maharashtra. The collaboration was formally unveiled at an orientation and MoU-signing event in Pune, attended by Wavar’s leadership team, the CSR PDMS team from Renovate India, and 59 NGO leaders from across the state.
Maharashtra remains at the centre of India’s agricultural transformation, yet farmers continue to face rising input costs, heavy chemical dependency, and declining soil fertility. The Samruddha Shetkari Prakalp seeks to address these challenges by enabling the adoption of modern, science-backed solutions such as Integrated Pest Management, community-led farming support, and technology-enabled interventions delivered through grassroots NGOs.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Joy Chakraborty, Co-founder of Wavar, said,
“Farmer prosperity depends on three fundamentals- lower input costs, healthier soil, and access to practical technologies that actually work in the field. This partnership gives us an opportunity to reach thousands of farmers in Maharashtra through a very strong NGO network. By integrating IPM, soil-health interventions, and modern agronomy practices into their daily farming systems, we can help farmers reduce chemical dependency, improve profitability, and move towards truly sustainable agriculture.”
Renovate India, known for its work in strengthening rural communities and supporting grassroots organisations, will play a central role in mobilising NGOs, training local teams, and ensuring on-ground implementation at scale. At the event, Mr. Sunny Pawar, Managing Director of Renovate India, shared the organisation’s approach to capacity building and its commitment to driving measurable livelihood outcomes in rural India. Mr. Alok Kadam, Co-founder of Renovate India, outlined the responsibilities of participating NGOs and emphasised the importance of financial sustainability and community-first engagement.
With over 50 MoUs signed during the Pune event, the initiative is set to expand rapidly across multiple districts. The program will focus on farmer training, deployment of IPM tools, soil-health improvement practices, and village-level entrepreneurship models that enable long-term adoption.
“Maharashtra’s farmers have always shown strong openness to innovation. When the right tools and the right guidance come together, the impact is visible almost immediately. Through this partnership with Renovate India and the strength of its NGO network, we will be able to deliver cleaner, safer, and more cost-efficient farming solutions directly to the grassroots,” adds Mr. Sanjay Shirodkar, Co-founder, Wavar,
The partnership brings together Wavar’s expertise in Integrated Pest Management and Renovate India’s deep grassroots presence to build a resilient, future-ready ecosystem for farmers. The Samruddha Shetkari Prakalp marks an important step toward strengthening Maharashtra’s rural economy through sustainable, low-residue, and profitable agriculture.
