Mumbai, March 20, 2025: On the occasion of World Head Injury Awareness Day (Mar 20th), Fortis Hospital Mulund in collaboration with the Regional Transport Office (RTO) Thane (Anand Nagar), organized a health talk session for all RTO officers and individuals participating in test drives, to raise awareness about prevention, immediate response, and long-term care associated with head injuries. The session, attended by 130 RTO workforce and test drivers, was led by Dr Jayesh Sardhara, Senior Consultant – Brain & Spine Surgery and Dr Sanket Shinde, from Dept. of Emergency Medicine, Fortis Hospital, Mulund. Dr. Vijay Shelke-Additional Regional Transport Officer, Mr. Prashad Nalavade, Additional Regional Transport Officer and Mr. Shashikant Tirse, Additional Regional Transport Officer were present on the occasion. The initiative was hosted under the leadership of Ms Hemangi Patil, Head-RTO, Thane.
The health talk covered a range of topics, including practical prevention strategies, steps to take in the event of a head injury, and the long-term effects and care required for recovery. Participants were also trained in the basics of administering first-aid in case of an accident.

At RTO Thane, we are committed to ensuring the safety of both our officers and the general public. Collaboration with health experts is key to achieving this goal. Through this health talk, we aim to equip everyone with the knowledge and tools to respond effectively to head injuries, ultimately contributing to safer roads for all. We are also training individuals on necessary first aid skills, which can make a life-saving difference in emergency situations.”
Speaking about the awareness session, Dr. Vishal Beri, Facility Director, Fortis Hospital Mulund, said, “We are committed to promoting safety and well-being, not only among RTO officers but also within the local community.
