In a stirring celebration of skill, dignity, and national pride, Zee News and Greenply successfully hosted the third edition of Hindustan Ki Shaan—a national-level awards initiative that continues to redefine how India acknowledges its grassroots champions. Held in Mumbai, this year’s edition paid a resounding tribute to the often-overlooked community of carpenters and contractors whose craft lays the very foundation of India’s physical and societal infrastructure.
The evening was graced by Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Maharashtra’s Hon’ble Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, as the Special Guest, and renowned actor, poet, and author Shailesh Lodha, who enlivened the event as Chief Guest. Mr. Rajesh Mittal, Chairman and Managing Director of Greenply Industries Ltd., also graced the event, with his vision and leadership playing a pivotal role in the success and growth of Hindustan Ki Shaan. Together, their presence reinforced the critical role of skilled labour and the shared responsibility of government, industry, and media in empowering this indispensable workforce.
The on-ground event celebrated not just winners, but successful life journey stories—of persistence, skill, and excellence passed down through generations. Honouring talent across regions, the winners were: Mahesh Kumar Rana (East Zone), Ghulam Nabi (North Zone), Radhe Shyam (South Zone), Kailash Suthar (West Zone), and the coveted National Award was won by Ravindra Suthar. The Wood Carving Award was presented to Sendil Kumar, whose artistic finesse exemplified timeless Indian craftsmanship, and the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred upon Laxmanan A, a doyen of the trade whose decades of dedication have inspired many.
Mr. Yatnesh Pandey, VP- Marketing, Greenply, stated, “At Greenply, we believe marketing should not only promote products, but also uplift the communities we serve. The purpose-driven marketing program ‘Hindustan Ki Shaan’ is our tribute to the skilled hands who turn blueprints into reality — a celebration of talent, tradition, and the human spirit that powers our nation’s growth.”
Mr. Anindya Khare, Marketing Head, ZMCL, further highlighted, “‘Hindustan Ki Shaan’ is a reflection of Zee Media’s deep-rooted belief in purpose-driven storytelling. This initiative is not just about honouring excellence in craftsmanship, but about restoring the dignity of work and shining a spotlight on the individuals who shape our world quietly, skillfully, and with unwavering commitment. Through such platforms, we aim to shift the national conversation — from aspiration to appreciation — and ensure that the hands behind our homes, offices, and institutions are seen, valued, and celebrated.”
Anchored around the message of ‘Celebrating the hands that shape dreams and wood alike’, the third season of Hindustan Ki Shaan also brought to the forefront an emotional and powerful truth—that India’s growth is incomplete without acknowledging the hands that build it. Every nominee at this platform represents not just personal excellence, but the spirit of an entire community that deserves both recognition and opportunity.
Zee News, India’s trusted national news platform, amplified this message with unmatched depth and reach.
Through its third season, Hindustan Ki Shaan has grown far beyond an awards function—it has become a platform of purpose, a movement of recognition, and a celebration of dignity in labour. With Greenply’ commitment to social upliftment and Zee News’ powerful national voice, the initiative is setting a new benchmark in how India honours those who build it—quietly, skillfully, and selflessly.
As the applause rang through the hall and the trophies were lifted, one truth stood tall—these artisans are not just carpenters and contractors; they are the soul of our infrastructure, the spirit of our communities, and truly, Hindustan Ki Shaan.
