Bengaluru, March 3, 2025: The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is setting up a state-of-the-art Centre of Future Skills, under NSDC Academy, at Chaudhary Charan Singh University (CCSU), Meerut to empower youth in new technology courses like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Healthcare/Paramedical, and Languages. In addition to this, the Sports Physical Education Fitness and Leisure Skills Council (SPEFL-SC) is also establishing a Manufacturing-cum-Training facility at CCSU, funded through CSR initiatives.
On Saturday, two Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) were signed in the presence of Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Union Minister of State (I/C) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), and Minister of State for Education at the University premises. The first MoU was signed between NSDC CEO and MD NSDC International, Shri Ved Mani Tiwari and Vice Chancellor of CCSU Prof. Sangeeta Shukla which aims to integrate skill development into mainstream education. The second agreement was signed between Shri Tahsin Zahid, CEO of the SPEFL-SC, and Prof. Sangeeta Shukla, aimed at empowering 600 women candidates from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in the manufacturing-cum-training centre of badminton rackets and shuttlecocks.
During the ceremony, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, said “This Centre of Future Skills in Meerut is a great initiative to facilitate various valuable training for students in new-age courses like Artificial Intelligence, healthcare, Machine Learning etc. There are continuous attempts being made to provide the students with opportunities and platforms for them to showcase their skills and talent.
This collaboration between NSDC and CCSU will enable students to undertake courses in new technologies which are very valuable in this rapidly growing economy. NSDC Academy’s initiative to launch this Centre of Future Skills will provide a platform to students to learn healthcare training and gain certifications which will open various new avenues for them.”
This partnership aims to provide hands-on training in high-demand sectors, integrating skill-based programmes with academic courses to enhance employability. It will leverage Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), NSDC JobX and NSDC International for accessible skilling and employment opportunities in India and abroad.
Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC and MD, NSDC International, added, “With the rapid evolution of technology, the workforce of tomorrow must be equipped with skills that align with industry demands. The Centre of Future Skills will help facilitate futuristic skills in both tech and non-tech sectors, focusing on cutting-edge healthcare and paramedic technologies, and offering language courses to enhance international mobility. We will also be providing language/soft-skill courses through NSDC International to make this youth employable globally. NSDC International is enhancing youth employability by partnering with leading different governments across the world, positioning India as a global talent hub through strategic collaborations across sectors.”
Prof. Sangeeta Shukla, mentioned in her address, “The signing of this important MoU between CCSU, and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in the presence of Hon’ble Minister Chaudhary Jayant Singh marks a significant step towards both skill development and women empowerment. The establishment of a shuttlecock manufacturing center within the university campus will create new employment opportunities and help women become self-reliant.
Our goal is to equip women with training in modern technologies and traditional craftsmanship, linking them with industries and ensuring their economic empowerment. This initiative will accelerate regional development and promote self-employment at the local level. The university remains committed to fostering such skill enhancement initiatives for a brighter and more empowered future.”

The Centre of Future Skills will focus on equipping students with cutting-edge skills in emerging technologies representing NSDC’s broader plan to create 50 such centres nationwide. The establishment of this centre is expected to transform Meerut into a significant hub for skill development, innovation, and employment, while contributing to India’s workforce readiness for Industry 4.0 technologies.
A distinctive feature of this programme is the integration of skill development with traditional academics – students will receive academic credits toward their degrees while acquiring industry-relevant capabilities. The centre will function as a comprehensive facility offering practical training, specialised certifications, and direct industry engagement.
The Sports Physical Education Fitness & Leisure Skills Council, under the HDFC SPORTS RISE Project funded through CSR, will establish a Manufacturing cum Training facility in badminton racket and shuttlecock production, with product design and marketing support and market access facilitated through sports retail networks, government supplies, and platforms like Amazon.
