Volvo Group India and Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology Forge Strategic Partnership to Bridge Academia and Industry

17th March, Bengaluru – Volvo Group India Private Limited and Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (TIET), Patiala, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration between academia and the automotive industry. The MoU was formalized in Bengaluru, marking a significant milestone in developing industry-ready talent.

The partnership is designed to create a seamless bridge between theoretical learning and practical industry exposure, ensuring students gain the skills required to excel in the dynamic automobile sector. The collaboration will focus on key areas such as industry-aligned curriculum development, exclusive recruitment opportunities, expert-led learning, project-based education, internships, and upskilling programs for Volvo employees.

Key Highlights of the MoU:

  • Industry-Aligned Curriculum: Volvo and TIET will co-design programs to address the evolving demands of the automobile industry and meet Volvo’s recruitment needs.
  • Exclusive Recruitment Opportunities: Volvo will have the first right of refusal during campus placements, providing students with direct career pathways into the company.
  • Expert-Led Learning: Volvo’s industry leaders will conduct specialized lectures to enrich the academic curriculum with real-world insights.
  • Project-Based Learning: Students will engage in hands-on, industry-relevant projects provided by Volvo, enhancing their practical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
  • Internships and Apprenticeships: TIET students will gain access to structured internship and apprenticeship opportunities at Volvo, offering invaluable industry exposure.
  • Support for Volvo Employees: Volvo employees will receive priority access to pursue higher education and professional development programs at TIET.
