~Bharat Intelligence Summit 2025 to serve as a strategic platform for collaboration between academia, industry, and investment to drive India’s deeptech ambitions.
Bangalore, 23 April, 2025: The IIT Kanpur Alumni Association is organising the Bharat Intelligence Summit 2025, scheduled to be held on 26th April 2025 at the IIT Alumni Centre, Bangalore.
The Summit is envisioned as a platform for constructive engagement among stakeholders in India’s deep technology landscape. It will bring together emerging startups, multinational corporations, Global Capability Centers (GCCs), academic institutions, and the investment community to drive collaboration, catalyze innovation, and accelerate the development of indigenous technologies.
Talking about the event, Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, said, “My compliments and best wishes to IIT Kanpur Alumni Association for organizing this timely event. As India aims to become a hub for deep tech, the convergence of the key stakeholders and the capabilities of our technology institutions is a natural progression. Coordinated efforts of academic institutions and GCCs, with their deep knowledge, global footprint, and advanced R&D capabilities, will play a vital role in advancing national priorities in DeepTech.
This initiative aligns with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and the objectives of Atmanirbhar Bharat, emphasizing technological self-reliance, innovation-led entrepreneurship, and the development of high-value intellectual capital. By bridging academia, industry, and capital, the Summit aims to contribute meaningfully to India’s deeptech ambitions.
The day-long event will feature high-impact sessions including policy discussions, industry-specific panels on frontier technologies, ESG implementation, and R&D models, alongside interactive demos, emerging tech showcases, and academic-industry expositions. Curated networking lounges and pitch competitions will further create meaningful engagement opportunities between GCCs, startups, and investors. Dedicated spaces like the Sustainability Innovation Pavilion and AI & Quantum Research Showcase will spotlight cutting-edge solutions.
The Summit will host a distinguished lineup of speakers from leading Global Capability Centers, technology firms, academia, and public institutions. Notable speakers include Sanket Atal, CEO of Salesforce; Navneet Kapoor, Head of Technology at MAERSK; Harsh Khanna from Wells Fargo; Santosh Mishra, Partner at PwC; and Rama Ramakrishnan, Principal Director at Microsoft. Deeptech entrepreneurship and mentoring will be represented by Aloknath De, angel investor and former CTO of Samsung R&D. From the policy and innovation ecosystem, Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, CEO of the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), will share key insights. Academic and institutional leaders such as Prof. Sachchida Nand Tripathi , Dean, Kotak School of Sustainability at IIT Kanpur; Prof. Rishikesh Krishnan, Director of IIM Bangalore; and Prof. Sadagopan, former Director of IIIT-Bangalore, will participate, alongside industry experts including Rajesh Ojha, Partner at PwC; Rajeeva Parasar, Tricon; Anuj Gupta, Gradient Advisors; and Sunil Gupta, Senior Director at Cognizant.
Jai Shankar Sharma, Chairperson, Startup Master Class (SMC) and Dr. Manjeer Majumder, President, IITK AA Bangalore Chapter are spearheading this event.
IIT Kanpur will be represented by members of its alumni, faculty and administrative leadership, reaffirming the Institute’s commitment to nurturing innovation and enabling deeptech entrepreneurship through alumni-led, impact-driven initiatives.
