Mumbai, 2nd September 2026: JSW Sports, a leading force in India’s sports ecosystem, has entered into an exclusive partnership with Cricket Hong Kong, China (CHKC) to serve as the Commercial Partner for the Hong Kong Sixes, marking the group’s foray into international sporting intellectual properties.
Under the partnership, JSW Sports will work closely with Cricket Hong Kong, China across all aspects of the iconic event, with special emphasis on Commercial and Marketing. JSW and CHKC share the common vision to scale the event and grow the tournament’s global footprint, deepen fan engagement, and unlock new commercial value across sponsorship, broadcast, and brand partnerships.
This partnership marks a significant milestone for JSW Sports, extending its proven expertise in domestic league management and athlete representation onto the international stage for the first time.
First conceptualised in 1992, long before the advent of T20 cricket, the Hong Kong Sixes has a rich history of 34 years. Over the years, the tournament has carved out a unique identity and grown into one of cricket’s most distinctive international tournaments – a high-octane, nation-versus-nation format built for speed, spectacle and global broadcast appeal. The Sixes are sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and supported by the Government of the Hong Kong SAR, as an M Mark event, recognized by the Major Sports Events Committee (MSEC). It is the city’s only annual international cricket event, that brings together teams from the ICC Full Member Countries and Associate Members. Over its history the Sixes has been graced by some of the sport’s greatest icons including Sachin Tendulkar, Shane Warne, Sir Viv Richards, MS Dhoni, David Warner, Wasim Akram, Shahid Afridi, and many more. Today, the Sixes combines sporting heritage with contemporary entertainment value: the 2025 edition featured 12 national teams including Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka, reached an estimated 400 million viewers globally and drew over 10,500 attendees across three days. Its recognition within Hong Kong’s major sporting events ecosystem further underlines its stature as a marquee international event with the ability to showcase the city as a global destination for world-class sport.
The upcoming 22nd edition of the tournament will take place from 30 October to 1 November 2026 at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground, and JSW Sports’ partnership begins with this edition as the tournament looks to build on its record-breaking momentum from recent years.
Speaking on the development, Divyanshu Singh, CEO, JSW Sports, said:
“Hong Kong Sixes marks a defining moment for JSW Sports, our first partnership with international Sporting IP’s. This is a natural extension of everything we’ve built in Indian sport, and we’re excited to bring that same rigour and ambition to a global stage in close collaboration with Cricket Hong Kong, China. The tournament already has a storied legacy in the six-a-side format; our focus, together with Cricket Hong Kong, China, will be on scaling it further — growing its audience, strengthening its commercial value, and helping shape it into a truly global series.”
Burji Shroff, Chairperson, Cricket Hong Kong, China, said:
“We are delighted to have JSW Sports as our Commercial Partner for the Hong Kong Sixes. The event has always occupied a special place in the global cricket calendar, and this partnership with JSW Sports gives us the opportunity to build on that legacy with renewed ambition. JSW Sports brings deep experience across cricket and the wider sporting ecosystem, including its engagement with leading franchises and athletes, and that knowledge will be invaluable as we strengthen the tournament’s commercial platform, and take the Sixes to an even wider international audience. We look forward to working closely with JSW Sports to ensure the Hong Kong Sixes continues to grow as a world-class celebration of cricket in Hong Kong.”
Through this partnership, JSW Sports and Cricket Hong Kong, China, will work together to build on that legacy – strengthening the tournament’s commercial ecosystem, enhancing fan and broadcast engagement, and unlocking new partnership opportunities that firmly position the Hong Kong Sixes as one of cricket’s most exciting global entertainment properties.
