New Delhi, 26 September 2025: Smt. Rekha Gupta, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, at the IBET Expo 2025 reaffirmed the Delhi Government’s commitment to make the National Capital a green-energy driven state and called on energy companies to explore opportunities in the renewable energy sector to achieve Net Zero Goals by 2070.
On the third day of the 2nd edition of India Bioenergy & Tech Expo, an International Exhibition and Conference on Bioenergy and Technologies, at Yashobhoomi (New Delhi), the Chief Minister emphasised on making India energy Atmanirbhar and acknowledged the significance of the platform in initiating dialogues on bioenergy.
“India is continuously making progress in the field of bioenergy under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this direction, Delhi is also emerging as a key market. We want to collaborate in all the fields in which you have expertise. I invite all of you to contribute to Delhi’s growth,” Smt. Gupta said.
Addressing the gathering through a video conference, Shri Pralhad Joshi. Hon’ble Minister of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and Consumer Affairs stressed on the importance of innovation and collaboration to unlock the full potential of the bioenergy sector.
“Let us work together to spark innovation, foster collaboration, and unlock the full potential of the sector. By scaling up bioenergy, we can accelerate India’s clean energy transition and secure the prosperity of the (nation),” Shri Joshi said.
Underscoring the progress India has made in the renewable energy sector, the Union Minister called for the promotion of indigenous manufacturing to increase domestic capacity, ensure energy self-sufficiency, and support inclusive development.
IBET Expo 2025 concluded with Smt. Rekha Gupta facilitating the winners of the 5th India Green Energy Awards for their remarkable innovation and contributions in the field of green energy. The industry leaders were recognised under different categories, including Wind Power, Hydro Power, Solar Power, and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ravindra Boratkar, Founder Member, IFGE & Managing Director MM Activ Sci-Tech Communications, said, “India needs to follow the footsteps of Brazil with respect to biofuels. IBET Expo 2025 served as a platform for greater interaction between stakeholders for advancing the bioenergy sector.”
Shri Sanjay Ganjoo, Director General, Indian Federation of Green Energy, said, “Discussion and collaboration are key to accelerating widespread bioenergy adoption in India. This event served as a platform for greater discussion on this crucial topic.”
The three-day event brought together more than 170 senior government officials, policymakers, experts, industry leaders, research scholars, and other dignitaries to share insights and explore opportunities in the bioenergy sector. More than 100 companies showcased their technologies, products, and services at the expo.
Uttar Pradesh, a leading state in bioenergy, participated as the Partner State. The event was supported by the Ministries of MNRE, Power, MoRTH, DST, and MSME. Leading industry associations, included ISMA, NFCSF, IBA, GEMA, and WBA.
