India’s Diagnostics Sector Sees Strong Shift Toward Preventive & Precision Testing in 2025: Agilus Diagnostics Report

• Preventive health testing grew 30% year on year
• Lifestyle and gut health testing surged 47% year to date
• Oncogenomics grew 16% year to date, with faster reporting timelines

National, 24 December 2025: India’s healthcare landscape is undergoing a visible shift. People are moving from symptom-driven testing to proactive health checks. Preventive blood testing, lifestyle and gut health diagnostics and advanced cancer genomic profiling are emerging as key growth drivers, according to year-end data from Agilus Diagnostics.

Urban Indians, especially young adults across cities like Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Kolkata, Lucknow and Chandigarh are becoming more proactive about their health. Preventive blood tests grew 30% year on year, showing that people want to monitor their metabolic health, heart risk and nutrition before any problems appear. At the same time, lifestyle and gut health testing including microbiome analysis, pancreatic panels, gastrointestinal assessments and food intolerance tests rose 47% this year, up from 31% last year. Changing diets, more sedentary lifestyles and doctor recommendations are driving this trend. These tests are helping people catch chronic and hidden health issues early which makes routine check-ups and preventive care a natural part of everyday life.

Oncogenomics is also seeing strong growth, up 16% year to date. Blood cancer genomic results are now ready in just three days, compared to several weeks earlier. Comprehensive profiling for solid tumors is delivered within five days allows doctors to make faster and more informed treatment decisions. This faster, precision testing is helping patients get timely care and better outcomes.

Dr Anand K, Managing Director & CEO, Agilus Diagnostics, said: “Healthcare is changing, and diagnostics is at the heart of it. People are thinking ahead, checking their health before problems arise and doctors are using these tests to guide better decisions. Early detection, personalised testing and preventive care are no longer optional – they are becoming a way of life. Our goal is to make sure people get the right insights, at the right time, so they can take control of their health.”

With faster reporting, wider access to specialised tests, and growing public awareness, diagnostics is becoming a central pillar of India’s evolving healthcare ecosystem, transforming how people and doctors approach health decisions.
