Bangalore, March 29, 2024: Countering tough questions, erstwhile Minister in the UPA Government, General Secretary Indian National Congress (INC) and MLA in Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot, candidly presented his views at the ABP ‘Shikhar Sammelan’, today. Speaking about the constant losses faced by Congress party in last two national elections, Sachin Pilot said, “Winning or losing is for everyone in a party but the responsibility of winning and losing ultimately lies with leadership of the organization. No family member from the Gandhi family has become a Prime Minister, Chief Minister or any other minister in the last 35 years. They are committed to work for the nation and the party.”

Speaking about outcomes of electoral politics, Sachin Pilot, said, “Today’s opposition is tomorrow’s Government. At the national level, Congress is the only party that can compete and defeat the BJP. In 2004, Vajpayee ji came up with the slogan of India Shining. Then people gave the verdict in the favour of Congress.”

Reflecting upon the role of people and institutions in the democracy, Sachin Pilot, said, “Voting is not the only responsibility of people in a democracy. It has to be a participatory democracy, where democratic institutions have to remain strong.”

Speaking about why many leaders from opposition and congress are joining BJP, Sachin Pilot remarked, “The current Government is misusing Central Institutions. Around 95% of ED raids have been against the political leaders of opposition.”

Speaking about the chances of INDIA alliance winning the next election, Sachin Pilot said, “INDIA Alliance vote share in 2019 elections was 65%. We are fighting to win 2024. NDA Alliance had broken down. It has re-emerged to counter INDIA Alliance.”
