Chandigarh, January 30, 2025: With the political discourse heating up around the upcoming Delhi elections, ABP News, one of India’s leading Hindi news channels, organised a thought-provoking ‘Shikhar Sammelan’ at The Lalit, New Delhi. Hosting the tallest of the political leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the special guest panel served as a crucible for incisive analysis and fervent discussions.
Arvind Kejriwal, Former Chief Minister of Delhi, and National Convener of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), said, “In Delhi, governance speaks louder than words. Unlike others who may resort to abuse during elections, my discussions focus solely on our achievements and plans for the state. We’ve implemented measures that not only support but enhance the lives of every resident, ensuring continuity in our progress. I urge the people of Delhi to consider the practical implications of their vote, not out of fear, but out of awareness. The choice is clear, continue the development and free services we have provided, or face uncertain changes that could disrupt your household budgets and our collective future. If BJP comes to power, many of the free facilities like free water, free electricity, mohalla clinics, free education, free transport, etc., will be stopped. The Haryana Government is contaminating the waters of the Yamuna. If citizens become ill, I will be blamed because I provide free water.”
Talking about Rahul Gandhi, he added, “My future is with my wife, with the citizens of the country, with the people of Delhi, not with Rahul Gandhi. I have nothing to say about him. Rahul Gandhi and the BJP seem to be speaking the same language in this election, which puzzles me as our focus at AAP has always been on Delhi’s progress, not political rhetoric. As an engineer first and a politician second, my approach is practical, not argumentative. I don’t get into personal attacks, I work tirelessly for the ‘Aam Aadmi’.”
Arvind Kejriwal also added, “The fabric of AAP is woven with the aspirations of middle-class families, not the affluence of the elite, which is what the BJP focuses on. Remember, true progress for our country lies in the welfare of its people, not in transient political alliances. We are committed to safeguarding and advancing this progress, steering clear of the contamination of politics and focusing solely on the purity of purpose. I have been a politician for the last 10 years but cannot do politics. I do not abuse. I can only work for my people.”
Atishi Marlena, Honourable Chief Minister of Delhi, and Member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), said, “When raids used to happen in politicians’ homes, they would find gold bars, cash, property deeds, and company shares. AAP members are not corrupt; even after the opposition and CBI tried to raid our properties, they found nothing. The only thing the BJP has done is abuse Arvind Kejriwal. To bother us and abuse us is all that the BJP does. The people of Delhi know there is one party that only talks about what they have done, their work, and on the other hand, there is another party that only abuses. Delhi has become like the gangster capital of the country, similar to Mumbai in the 90s. Therefore, keeping the people of the state safe and maintaining law and order is our top priority.”
Manish Sisodia, Member of AAP, said, “If you can buy votes with money, then the richest man in India should have been the Prime Minister. The BJP must not be trusted; they have money, goons, and power, which they misuse. Instead of a midday meal, they are serving salt and roti. If you are a journalist reporting the truth about this party and PM Modi, there is a possibility that you might go to jail in this country. That is what it has come down to. Even journalists are not safe anymore. At the Maha Kumbh Mela, they have arranged special facilities for VIPs and some special guests, but there are no such arrangements for civilians and common folks. Even the minimum facilities were not met; common folks always suffer during BJP’s reign.”
Satyendar Jain, Member of the Aam Aadmi Party and a Former Cabinet Minister in the Government of Delhi, said, “My will did not break in jail, so it will not break now that I am out and free. There are no proper facilities in jail as claimed by the BJP. Ensuring that the aam aadmi is always prioritised and placed at the forefront is our duty and commitment.”
The ‘Shikhar Sammelan’ reinforced ABP News’ dedication to strengthening democratic discussions and helping people make informed choices for the country’s future. As the voice of democracy echoes across the nation, ABP News continues to guide the way by empowering citizens with knowledge and encouraging active participation in civic life.
