DPS RN Extension Celebrates Earth Week, Fosters Environmental Consciousness

Delhi Public School R.N. Extension organised “Earth Week” celebration to mark the World Earth Day an promote environmental consciousness and sustainability among its students. The school conducted various competitions for Classes Nursery to X to make the students connect with nature, foster creativity and create environmental awareness.

The themes of the competitions were based on Earth Day and students enthusiastically participated in them, showcasing their talent and commitment to eco-friendly practices. The students thoroughly engaged in an innovative painting session with the help of used straws, old bottle caps and jute swabs. They also participated in activities like crafting reusable bags with materials such as hand-made paper, fabric, newspaper, jute, ropes, ribbons, as an alternative to single-use plastic bags.

Furthermore, a food web design competition was also structured to encourage individual creativity and critical thinking. An Intra-Class Bird Feeder Making Competition was also organised for the students to promote wildlife conservation, encourage creativity and nurture a sense of responsibility towards the environment.

Ms. Pallavi Upadhyaya, Principal of DPS RN Extension, expressed delightfully, “Our Earth Week celebration aimed at instilling a sense of responsibility towards our planet among our students. Through various competitions and activities, we encouraged creativity, cultivated a deep connection with nature and promoted sustainable practices. We are hopeful that our students will lead the world towards a greener and more sustainable future.”
