“Please one year, let me try ma,” Neena Kulkarni requested her parents to try her hands at acting at a time, and there has been no stopping ever since.
Starting young and fresh as daisy with theatre, she learnt the craft from the who’s who of the Marathi theatre industry, and was, in no time, recognized for her talent, both in Hindi as much as Marathi cinema.
Ask her about how she managed the best of both worlds, career as well as a family, she confidently explained how she grew one day at a time and how it wasn’t really struggle until one day, “My struggle started when my husband died,” she explains as she reminisces how things were comparitively easier before that.
From being the face of distinct, diverse roles in viral ads such as Cadbury, Surf Excel, Parachute and more to doing award-worthy films and television series, the National Award winner has also been a columnist in Loksatta.
Currently gripping OTT like she owns it, the Unpaused actor walks the new age art with all the intelligence, and of course, sheer grace.
