Harish Dwivedi is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Lok Sabha constituency of Basti in the state of Uttar Pradesh. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Harish Dwivedi defeated his nearest rival Brijkishor Singh of Samajwadi Party (SP) by a margin of more than 30,000 votes. Dwivedi has been associated with social causes since his early years, when he used to participate in various creative activities to spread awareness among the masses. During his student years, he also participated in various protests and agitations that fought for the rights of the weaker sections of the society.
Early Life and Education
Harish Dwivedi was born on October 22, 1973 to Shri Sadhu Sharan Dube and Smt. Yashoda Devi. He was born in Basti, Uttar Pradesh. He has completed his Masters in Arts (M.A.) and his area of specialization was political science. Hereceivededucationat DeenDayalUpadhyay Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh). He married Vineeta on April 30, 2006.
