Haryana’s CM Nayab Singh Saini Launches Initiatives to Elevate OBC Community’s Socio-Economic Standing

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has introduced a range of forward-thinking initiatives aimed at uplifting the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community, showcasing his dedication to improving their socio-economic conditions. Being an OBC member himself, CM Saini is deeply aware of the community’s specific challenges and has launched multiple programs to address them.

In an effort to empower OBC youth, the state government has earmarked INR 13,000 crore for the Bhagwan Vishwakarma Yojana. This initiative provides training across 18 trades and offers financial assistance, along with skill-development kits to participants. It is part of a larger vision to boost educational and vocational opportunities for the OBC population.

A notable decision by CM Saini has been raising the annual income threshold for the creamy layer in government job eligibility from INR 6 lakh to INR 8 lakh, excluding salary and agricultural income. This adjustment follows central government guidelines and broadens the scope for OBC candidates to secure government jobs.

To further support OBC students and professionals, the government has introduced various scholarship programs to enhance access to education. Alongside these, several skill development initiatives are in place to equip OBC candidates with the skills necessary to thrive in the workforce.

Moreover, the Haryana Skill Employment Corporation now reserves 27% of its opportunities for OBC candidates, providing a significant boost to job prospects for the community’s youth.

As Haryana advances, these initiatives spearheaded by CM Nayab Singh Saini are laying a solid foundation for the OBC community, creating avenues for growth, opportunity, and empowerment throughout the state.
