Hyderabad Boy Wins Prestigious Math Award Created By The World’s Fastest Human Calculator

Over 6,000 students participated in an exciting two-round national speed math challenge, showcasing impressive talent and skill.

Hyderabad, March 21, 2025 – The National Arithmetic Championship was recently conducted by Neelakantha Bhanu – the World’s Fastest Human. This contest saw an impressive participation of over 6,000 students from 750 cities across India, with only 300+ making it to the final round. Among them was Greshin Rakesh, a Grade 3 Winner from Telangana, Hyderabad who performed brilliantly, solving 150+ questions correctly within the time limit in the final round. He said, “I was so happy when the results were announced. I knew I had performed well, but I never imagined I would be the champion,” he said. “I practiced regularly using the Bhanzu Play App and reviewed the recordings of each session. This competition has really boosted my confidence in math” He also shared that Round 2 was his favorite part of the competition because the difficulty level increased, and each question had to be solved in just 30 seconds.

Dr. Rekha, mother of Greshin Rakesh shared her thoughts on her son’s achievement, saying, “We were so happy to hear that our son won the championship. We felt very proud, especially since it was recognized by the World’s Fastest Human Calculator, Mr. Neelakantha Bhanu.” She added, “We are thankful to Bhanzu for organizing such a well-planned competition. The whole process was smooth and easy.”

This competition, organized by Bhanzu, a global math learning platform founded by Neelakantha Bhanu, the World’s Fastest Human Calculator, was a thrilling event where students competed head-to-head, solving 180,000 questions, with over 45,000 correct answers recorded in the final round alone. These young contestants, who are no less than sports athletes participated from all across India and tackled a staggering 45,000+ math problems. Although the competition was designed to span a week, these students completed the challenges in minutes. More than 100 students in each grade were tied within mere milliseconds. With the help of this championship, we are training students’ minds to build math confidence like never before.”
