Malook Nagar

Malook Nagar is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Lok Sabha constituency of Bijnor in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Bijnor Lok Sabha constituency comprises assembly constituencies of Bijnor, Chandpur, Meerapur, Hastinapur and Purqazi. Malook is a member of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). He is ranked among the richest Lok Sabha MPs in UP. At the time of filing his nomination for 2019 general elections, Malook had shown total net worth of around 220 crore. Much of Malook’s wealth comes from his large scale milk business.

In the 2019 general elections, Malook defeated his nearest rival Kunwar Bharatendra Singh of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by a margin of around 70k votes. This became possible because Malook had fought the election under the ‘mahagathbandhan’ (alliance) of Samajwadi Party (SP), BSP and some other parties. Malook had contested in 2014 Lok Sabha election also. But at that time, he had come third. SP candidate Shahnawaz Rana had come second in that election. Bijnor seat in 2014 was won by Kunwar Bharatendra Singh.

Before being elected as a Lok Sabha MP, Malook had also served as a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from 1998 to 2004.

Early Life and Education

Malook Nagar was born on July 03, 1964 to Shri R.D. Nagar and Smt. Shanti Nagar. He was born in Shakarpur, located in Hapur, UP. Malook did his schooling up to high school from HNS College. He did his Intermediate from A S Inter College Mawana, Meerut. Later, he completed his B.Sc. in biology. He had studied at S.S.V. Degree College, Hapur, Uttar Pradesh. In July 1989, Malook married Sudha.

  • May, 2019: Elected to 17th Lok Sabha
  • 13 Sept. 2019 onwards: Member, Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice; Member, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Corporate Affairs
