MIT-WPU Signs MoUs with Maharashtra Tax Practitioners Association and Tally Education to Enhance Student Learning & Career Opportunities

Mumbai, 21st February 2025: The School of Economics and Commerce at MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra Tax Practitioners Association (MTPA) to provide students with hands-on learning experiences, industry exposure, and career opportunities in taxation and finance.

This collaboration will enable students to gain practical insights into taxation through internships, industry-led guest lectures, workshops, and seminars conducted by seasoned tax professionals. Additionally, under this MoU, students will have access to specialized value-added courses designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application.

Speaking about the significance of the partnership, Dr. Anjali Sane, Dean, School of Economics and Commerce, MIT-WPU, stated, “An MoU with the Maharashtra Tax Practitioners Association offers our students invaluable opportunities to gain practical insights into tax laws and practices. This collaboration enhances their understanding of real-world taxation, bridging the gap between academic learning and professional expertise, and shaping them into skilled, job-ready professionals in the field of taxation and finance.”

As part of this initiative, around 600 students from the Second Year and Third Year B.Com programs will benefit from certification courses offered by MTPA over a two-month period. Additionally, MTPA will extend its support in facilitating internships for final-year students, ensuring they receive practical exposure to taxation and related financial domains.

Furthermore, MIT-WPU’s School of Economics and Commerce has also signed an MoU with Tally Education Private Limited to equip students with practical skills in accounting, auditing, and taxation. This partnership will provide students with hands-on training in Tally software, widely used by small and medium enterprises, making them industry-ready and enhancing their employability.

Dr. Anjali Sane emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “The MoU with Tally Education Private Limited opens doors to advanced learning and practical exposure, empowering students with essential skills in accounting and business management. It bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry-ready expertise, fostering future leaders in the financial world.”

These partnerships mark a significant step in MIT-WPU’s commitment to providing industry-relevant education and ensuring that students are well-prepared for careers in taxation, finance, and commerce.
