Rohtak Rowdies beat Kiraak Hyderabad 16-7
– Baroda Badshahs beat Kochi KD’s 20-2
New Delhi, 1st August, 2023: The fifth day of the inaugural edition of Pro Panja League witnessed some thrilling matches with Rohtak Rowdies and Baroda Badshahs winning big at the IGI Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday.
In the first match of the day, Kiraak Hyderabad took on Rohtak Rowdies. First up for Kiraak Hyderabad was Jagadish Baruah against Dara Singh Handa of Rohtak Rowdies in the 100kg bout. Dara Singh, popularly known as ‘Mr. Entertainment’, made his squad by winning the bout by clean sweep and earning 2 bonus points for Rohtak Rowdies.
Next up, Yazar Arafat from Kiraak Hyderabad faced off against Rohtak’s Nikhil Singh in 60kg bout. In the first round, Yazar used his power and experience to his advantage to win the round. Yazar then used the Kings move to his advantage and won the bout by clean sweep and secured 2 bonus points for Kiraak Hyderabad.
Up next in the 65+kg bout, Nirmal Devi of Rohtak Rowdies won the first round using her impeccable power. Nirmal then activated the challenger round and an error by Jincy helped Nirmal won the round and earn 6 bonus points for Rohtak Rowdies. In the undercard bout, Savita Kumari and Siddharth Malakar earned two points for Kiraak Hyderabad to give their team a 2-1 lead. Manoj Kumar Das won one point for Rohtak Rowdies. Rohtak Rowdies won the match with a score line of 16-7.
In the second match, Sagar Bhati earned one point for the Baroda Badshahs in the undercard bout, while Sonu stunned Mehboob Khan in the 80kg bout and Rajni Prajapati won her bout in the 65+kg category and helped Baroda Badshahs give a 2-1 lead. In the main card, Badshah’s Harman Mann faced off against Kochi’s Shaikh MD Abrar in the 90kg bout. In the first round, Harman used his forehand power to his advantage to win the round. Harman then activated the challenger round and won the bout and helped Baroda Badshahs secure 6 bonus points.
Up next, Badshah’s Trdip Medhi faced off against Kochi’s Akash Kumar in 70kg bout. In the first round, Akash Kumar stunned Tridip by locking him in a hook. In second round, Tridip used his power to win the round. In third round and fourth round, Tridip used his full power to win the bout and extending Badshah’s lead. In the final 80kgbout, Badshah’s Sachin Goyal was up against Kochi’s Prince Dhir. In the first round, Sachin locked Prince in a hook and won the round. In the second round, Sachin using his power pinned down Prince in a matter of seconds. Sachin won the bout with a clean sweep and helped earn Baroda Badshahs earn 2 bonus points. Baroda Badshah’s won the match with a score line of 20-2.
Ludhiana Lions will take on Baroda Badshahs, and Kiraak Hyderabad will face off against Kochi KD’s on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2023.
