SaPa Shines at Clef Music Awards 2025 with Six Wins from Bengaluru

Celebrating young talent and India’s vibrant music education ecosystem

Bengaluru, India | 19 September 2025: Six young musicians from the prestigious Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts have been honored at the Clef Music Awards 2025 today. This reaffirms the academy’s position as one of India’s most respected music institutions in the country. Founded by the famed playback singer Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam and legendary violinist Dr. L. Subramaniam, it continues to nurture the next generation of Indian musicians under the leadership of Dr. Ambi Subramaniam and Dr. Bindu Subramaniam.

SaPa’s awardees at the 2025 Clef Music Awards today included:

  • Mahati Subramaniam – Under 18 category for Best Song and Best Artist
  • Disha Reddy – Under 18 category for Best Song and Best Lyricist (Pop)
  • Tanya Ravidas – Best Lyricist (Pop)
  • Aditya Ravidas – Best Violinist (Instrumental Talent)
  • Abhinav Iyengar – Best Violinist (Instrumental Talent)
  • Saketh Phani Vedala – Mridangam (Instrumental Talent)

The Clef Music Awards, organized annually by RadioandMusic.com, recognize outstanding achievements across the Indian music industry, celebrating excellence in performance, composition, and innovation. Recognition for six students from SaPa underscores the academy’s unique philosophy of blending strong classical foundations with contemporary musical expression.

Speaking on the recognition, singer-songwriter and co-founder Dr. Bindu Subramaniam remarked, “It’s a joy to watch our SaPa students grow into confident, hardworking artists. Our vision at SaPa is to help children fall in love with music and nurture their creative spirit while giving them the structure they need. I’m proud of them for winning awards in so many different categories and can’t wait to see what they’ll go on to achieve.”

Adding to this, the recipient of the 2025 BraVo Award at Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre and co-founder, Dr. Ambi Subramaniam, said, “At SaPa, our goal is to build the next generation of passionate musicians. We’re so happy to see our students get recognised for their hard work in different areas and look forward to hearing the music they continue to make.”

Dr. Bindu Subramaniam is a singer, songwriter, and Co-Founder & CEO of SaPa. She co-founded SaPa in Schools with her brother Ambi in 2014, bringing music-led transformation to over 40,000 children annually. A pioneer in music education, she has authored 20 textbooks, created India’s first toddler-focused music module, and forged global partnerships with UNICEF, Infosys Foundation, and the Norwegian Academy of Music. As lead vocalist of SubraMania, she has performed internationally with Grammy-winning artists. A TEDx speaker and award-winning entrepreneur, Bindu holds advanced degrees in law, music, and education, and serves on global leadership forums.

Dr. Ambi Subramaniam, described as “the new king, brings global experience to SaPa’s vision. Trained from the age of three by his father and guru Dr. L. Subramaniam, Ambi has performed worldwide ranging from the Philharmonie de Paris to the Lincoln Center in New York and co-leads the SaPa in Schools program, which integrates music into the curriculum for more than 45,000 children across India.
