SFLC.in Nationwide Hackathon 2025 Champions Open-Source Innovation

New Delhi, 31st October 2025: SFLC.in is hosting a nationwide Hackathon on the theme of Defending Digital Rights, bringing together 67 teams of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) advocates, working professionals, and students from across the country, from 31st October to 2nd November, 2025. This hackathon is supported by FOSS United.

The event aims to create a collaborative space for developers to build innovative, community-driven solutions using open source technologies — further strengthening India’s growing FOSS ecosystem. The hackathon reflects a shared commitment to making India a global leader in open-source development by nurturing a new generation of developers driven by transparency, accessibility, and shared innovation.

Participants will be mentored by a distinguished panel of experts from the FOSS and technology communities, including:

  3. Devashish R. Purandare, Software Engineer 2, Microsoft (Azure Storage)

  6. Kathara Sasikumar, Linux Foundation Kernel Fellow and Debian Maintainer

The Hackathon underscores SFLC.in’s ongoing mission to promote free and open-source software and to build a sustainable, inclusive technology ecosystem powered by collaboration and community participation.
