SigIQ.ai Secures $9.5M in Seed Funding to Transform Personalized Learning with AI

National, 7 April 2025: SigIQ.ai, an AI-driven EdTech startup, has secured $9.5 million in seed funding to tackle one of education’s most enduring challenges—delivering truly personalized learning at scale. The funding is co-led by The House Fund & GSV Ventures, with participation from big names like Duolingo, General Catalyst India (Venture Highway),  Peak XV Partners, Calibrate Ventures and a host of angels like Andy Konwinski (Co-founder, Perplexity), Christian Storm (Co-founder & CTO, Turnitin),  Prof. Trevor Darrell (Berkeley AI Research, UC Berkeley), Prof. Jitendra Malik (Berkeley AI Research, UC Berkeley), Prof. Srini Devadas (MIT), Prof. Sharad Malik (Princeton) and others, will accelerate hiring top talent, enhancing AI models, and scaling platforms to educational systems worldwide.

The funding amount will be strategically deployed to build AI-powered EdTech solutions tailored for the Indian market, with a strong focus on language (Indian) learning capabilities. Additionally, it will be utilized to hire top-tier engineering and growth teams in India, strengthening the company’s ability to drive innovation.

Emerging from stealth after 18 months of development, SigIQ.ai is redefining AI-powered education with groundbreaking technology that has already launched two products—PadhAI and EverTutor.ai—in the U.S. and Indian higher education markets. In a landmark achievement, PadhAI Tutor ranked #1 nationally in the live UPSC 2024 civil service exam, outperforming over 1.3 million human candidates and surpassing existing AI systems like ChatGPT and Claude. The platform has rapidly gained traction, with over 200,000 learners preparing for the UPSC exam in India. Meanwhile, EverTutor.ai, designed for GRE preparation, has attracted more than 10,000 users within just three months of its launch.

“We’re at a pivotal moment in education where modern GenAI can provide a personal 1:1 tutor to every student and reduce the cost of one-on-one learning for hundreds of dollars an hour to the cost of computation,” said CEO Dr. Karttikeya Mangalam, a UC Berkeley AI PhD mentored by computer vision pioneer Prof. Jitendra Malik“We’ve started by first creating a tutor that itself can ace the very exam students are preparing for. This is a necessary step to ensure accuracy and quality in teaching delivered. And will set a new benchmark in personalized education, making the highest-quality education accessible to everyone, regardless of geography or socioeconomic status, at a fraction of the traditional cost.”

“SigIQ.ai isn’t just a regular EdTech startup — they’ve built an AI system that publicly demonstrated its ability to outperform both humans and leading commercial AI models on one of the world’s most challenging exams. This redefines what’s possible in personalized education,” said Jeremy Fiance, Managing Director of The House Fund.

Looking ahead, SigIQ.ai is set to expand its reach with EverTutor, supporting GRE aspirants through the upcoming spring and fall exam cycles. The company will showcase the latest advancements in EverTutor and PadhAI at ASU+GSV, further cementing its position as a leader in AI-driven education.

Bloom’s Two Sigma Problem highlights a well-documented phenomenon: students who receive one-on-one tutoring with a mastery-based approach perform two standard deviations better than those in traditional classroom settings. CEO Dr. Karttikeya Mangalam explains that Generative AI now provides the tools to bridge this gap at scale, making high-quality personalized tutoring accessible to all.
