New Delhi, Feb 5: On the 12th Foundation Day of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) Party held in presence of massive congregation of supporters in Rangpo, the President and Chief Minister on Sunday highlighted the party’s key initiatives and achievements. He emphasized their commitment to democracy, inclusivity, and progress.

Addressing the citizens of Sikkim, the President stated the collective achievements of the party highlighting the challenges overcome, progress made and the ongoing commitment to a brighter future for the state. The message called for unity, dedication and a continued collective spirit in pursuing shared goals.
The President reaffirmed the party’s commitment to democracy, inclusivity and progress, urging members to rededicate themselves to serving fellow citizens and advancing the well-being of Sikkim. The message outlined various welfare schemes and initiatives focusing on senior citizens, patients, vulnerable groups, women empowerment and support for students and those in need.
Key initiatives such as ‘Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana,’ ‘Sikkim Urban Garib Awas Yojana,’ and the Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Scheme were highlighted showcasing the party’s commitment to providing housing solutions, healthcare support and financial aid for medical procedures. The President also commended efforts to empower the youth economically through schemes like ‘One Family One Entrepreneurship.’
The commitment to education was underlined by sponsoring seats for MBBS students, supporting higher studies and encouraging local scholars through fellowship schemes. In sports, infrastructure projects like the Bhaichung Stadium and talent development academies were completed along with efforts to enhance tourism through various projects.
Acknowledging exemplary contributions, the President announced instituted awards for filial affection, dedication, cleanliness and outstanding sportspersons. Expressing gratitude to the Central Government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Governor of Sikkim Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Prem Singh Tamang also thanked party workers, citizens, governmental bodies and NGOs for their support.
“My heartfelt appreciation goes to everyone who joined us for this celebration, including those who journeyed from every nook and corner of the state. United in purpose, let’s march forward collectively with the motto ‘Sunaulo Sikkim and Samvriddha Sikkim’ towards a golden decade,” CM said.
Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) Party President and Chief Minister made several key announcements:
Beneficiaries under Aama Yojana scheme under SKM government would be doubled to 64,000. Each beneficiary under the scheme will be getting an annual financial support of Rs. 40,000.
“We have prepared the cheques and by February 25, these cheques will reach to the hands of the 32,000 Aama Yojana beneficiaries,” he said.
SKM Government will soon regularise all casual government workers and OFOJ employees who have completed four years in service. Chief Minister PS Golay said that the good news will be officially shared with the casual workers and OFOJ employees during the State-level OFOJ Sammelan happening at Rangpo on February 9.
Chief Minister has shared that the State cabinet decided to restore the old pension system for the State government employees. We would now go to the old pension system as per the demand of the employees, he said at Rangpo. At the same time, there is also an option for the government employees who want to stay covered under the existing new pension system.
Department of Innovation and Sustainability to be formed in the new government.
