Vinod Kumar Sonkar

Vinod Kumar Sonkar is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Lok Sabha constituency of Kaushambi in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Sonkar is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Kaushambi constituency was created in 2008, as part of the delimitation exercise in accordance with the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Vinod Kumar Sonkar defeated his nearest rival Shailendra Kumar of Samajwadi Party (SP) by a margin of more than 40,000 votes. Throughout his political career, Sonkar has focused on a wide variety of socialwelfare projects that aim to provideassistance to the weaker sections of the society. Sonkar has focused on promoting tourism in his constituency, as the area has a rich history dating back to several centuries. Sonkar is also focused on improving education and health services in Kaushambi.

Early Life and Education

Vinod Kumar Sonkar was born on February 18, 1970 to Shri Amar Nath Sonkar and Smt. Champa Devi. He was born in Sadiyapur, located in Allahabad district in Uttar Pradesh. Sonkar completed his graduation from Allahabad University. He married Sangeeta Sonkar on May 22, 2002.
