Zapp – Company Profile

Zapp is a leading on-demand delivery platform based out of Kent, United Kingdom. The company was founded in 2020 and has emerged as a preferred option to order a variety of every day products. Orders can be placed via the company’s mobile app, available on both App Store and Google Play. Zapp does not take orders via their website.

As there are quite a few online delivery platforms, Zapp differentiates itself by offering its services in a 24/7 environment. Another USP of Zapp is fastest possible delivery, usually within minutes. At most places where Zapp offers its services, users don’t have to wait for hours to get their delivery. The promise of superfast delivery is among the key reasons for Zapp’s growing popularity.

Unlike other platforms that may depend on third-party suppliers, Zapp operates its own local Zappstores. These are delivery only stores and stock thousands of products of everyday use. By having their own stores, Zapp has better control over inventory management. It helps ensure adequate supply of all items.

With Zapp, users do not have to stress about their favorite products being out of stock. Some of the most commonly ordered items on Zapp include essential grocery, drinks, snacks, everyday household products, over the counter medicines and personal health and hygiene goods.

History

While the concept of on-demand delivery of groceries and other household products was not new, the founders noticed the lack of promptness in delivery and limitation of delivery hours. A relevant question was why customers need to wait for hours or next morning to get delivery. As a solution, Zapp was launched as a 24/7 on-demand delivery platform.

With its growing popularity, the company has been consistently expanding its Zappstores across London. There could be plans to expand operations to other cities, but that will depend on demand. As of now, Zapp delivers to most parts of Central London. Users can enter their address on Zapp website or app to know if Zapp is delivering in their area.

Funding

Zapp has received investment worth $300 million via three rounds of funding. Some of the key investors include 468 Capital, BroadLight Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Atomico.
