Niranjan Jyoti is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament (MP) from the LokSabha constituency of Fatehpur. She is a member of the BharatiyaJanata Party (BJP). In 2012, she had won from the Hamirpur constituency in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Before joining mainstream politics, Niranjan Jyoti was a Kathavahchak (religious storyteller). Her journey from a religious storyteller to a LokSabha MP has been admired by many people. However, she still has her roots in religious teachings, as she believes that it has a wealth of knowledge that can transform lives. Throughout her political career, Niranjan has remained committed towards the upliftment of the children of the poor and vulnerable sections of society. She has also worked for several other social causes such as promoting forestation, protection of cows, advocating and promoting social and cultural values, and providing assistance in marriage of poor girls.
Early Life and Education
Niranjan Jyoti was born in a village called Patewra in Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh. She was born in the year 1967 to ShriAchyutanand and Smt. Shiv Kali Devi. She completed her Intermediate education from Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board, Allahabad. As a sadhvi (priestess), Niranjan has chosen to remain unmarried.
Political Career
Since an early age, Niranjan was drawn towards religious services and social work. After spending several years in the service of the society and its people, Niranjan felt that she can do a lot more for people if she joins the political mainstream. It was this realization that inspired Niranjan to be a part of the mainstream political setup.

Personal Pursuits
Niranjan has devoted her personal life to religious pursuits. She believes that society and its people can benefit immensely if they can wake up to the teachings described in ancient Indian scriptures. She personally likes to read religious books like ShrimadBhagwat, Shri Ram Katha, Gita and Upnishads. She treats these as a storehouse of great wisdom and knowledge, which can help anyone in their lives if they start to understand and implement the teachings in these books. Apart from reading religious books, Niranjan also likes to read biographies and autobiographies of famous people and prominent political leaders. She also likes visiting places of pilgrimage and listening to religious hymns. She has interests in gardening and taking part in religious and cultural programs. She practices yoga and meditation on regular basis.
