Ramesh Bidhuri

Ramesh Bidhuri is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Lok Sabha constituency of South Delhi. Ramesh is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Prior to being an MP, Ramesh Bidhuri was a Member of Legislative Assembly of NCT of Delhi.

Ramesh Bidhuri has been winning the Lok Sabha parliamentary seat of South Delhi since 2014. Several popular leaders have contested and won elections from South Delhi. The list includes Arjun Singh, Madan Lal Khurana and Sushma Swaraj. In 2014 Lok Sabha election from South Delhi, Ramesh Bidhuri defeated his nearest rival Col. Devinder Sehrawat of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) by a margin of more than one lakh votes. Ramesh received 45.17% of the votes, as compared to 35.47% of his nearest rival.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election from South Delhi, Ramesh Bidhuri increased his vote share to a whopping 56.58%. He defeated his nearest rival Raghav Chadha of AAP by a margin of more than 3.6 lakh votes. It goes on to show that Ramesh had cared for his constituency during his first 5-year term as an MP from South Delhi.

Early Life, Education and professional career

Ramesh Bidhuri was born on July 18, 1961 to Shri Ramrikh and Smt. Charto Devi. He was born in Delhi. His educational qualifications include B.Com., LL.B. and he had studied at Delhi University and Chaudhary Charan Singh University. By profession, Ramesh Bidhuri is an advocate, farmer and businessperson. He had married Smt. Kamla Bidhuri on March 02, 1987.

Political Career

Ramesh Bidhuri has had a long political career, spanning more than two decades. He has been Member of Legislative Assembly of NCT of Delhi from 2003 to 2014. He is also a member of the governing body at AIIMS.
