Sharvari Wagh Reveals Her Path to Stardom and Future Ambitions in Grazia’s August 2024 Issue

National, 16 August, 2024 : Sharvari Wagh is taking the industry by storm with her unstoppable streak of hits. Since her debut in the OTT series ‘The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye’ in 2020, directed by the legendary Kabir Khan, Sharvari has been steadily climbing the ranks. She first caught everyone’s eye with her knockout performance in ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ in 2021. Fast forward to 2024, and her second big-screen outing, the horror-comedy ‘Munjya’, has become a runaway success, finally giving her the spotlight she’s been hustling for over the past three years. Her recent Netflix hit, ‘Maharaj’, directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, has further cemented her status as Bollywood’s rising star.

Reflecting on her blockbuster film ‘Munjya’, Sharvari shared, “I think it’s been an overwhelming year so far, but I’m so grateful for it. ‘Munjya’ was my second film in theatres, and it’s a big blessing that the film did what it did. It allows actors like me to put more work out there and get the kind of roles I’ve wanted for so long. It empowers me in that way.”

Sharvari is all set to take over the big screen with two highly anticipated projects, ‘Vedaa’ and ‘Alpha.’ About ‘Vedaa’, she excitedly said, “It’s a titular role for me in ‘Vedaa’ and comes with great responsibility. It’s a push in the right direction. It’s a complete mass action entertainer in the garb of a socio-political storyline that we hope connects with a larger audience.” But the one that has everyone buzzing is her role in the much-talked-about YRF spy universe film ‘Alpha’, where she stars alongside the powerhouse Alia Bhatt. “It’s led by two women, which is incredible. For the first time, you’ll see two women in the lead doing action, breaking conventions, and giving us the representation we’re due as women.”

As for the future, Sharvari is all about choosing projects that show off her versatile talents. “I think I have a funny bone; I’m always cracking jokes. Even in uncomfortable situations, my go-to is to crack a joke. I watch a lot of comedy,” she shares, with ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ and ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ being her all-time favorites. “I’m happy to go one step at a time. The medium doesn’t matter; as an actor, people will love and appreciate your work just the same.”

With her unstoppable energy and passion, Sharvari Wagh is definitely the name to watch out for in Bollywood!
