The Artusi Ristorante e Bar has an interesting story that started more than two decades back. Oscar Balcon, an Italian banker and GurpinderSekhon, an IT consultant, met each other while working on different projects. Their love for food was one of the reasons that brought them together, post which they fell in love and got married. As they travelled the world together, they came across a wide variety of international cuisines, which ignited a passion that eventually led to the launch of Artusi Ristorante e Bar in New Delhi. The fine dine restaurant derives its name from Pellegrino Artusi, an Italian writer who created Italy’s first cookbook in 1891 titled La Scienzain Cucinae L’artedi Mangier Bene(Science in the Kitchen and the Art of Eating Well).
Food & Drink – Artusi Ristorante e Bar serves only the most authentic traditional and entirely home-made Italian cuisine. The restaurant derives its wonderful tastes and flavors from Emilia-Romagna, an administrative region of Northern Italy, which is considered as Italy’s center of gastronomy. The region is famous for its pastas, although at Artusi, you will find many more options including an extensive range of risottos, meats, fish, seafood, salads, vegetables, and some truly amazing desserts. The owner Oscar Balcon and Chef RominaLugaresiare both from the Emilia-Romagna region, which ensures that patrons can enjoy the most delightful flavors of traditional, home-made Italian cuisine. Last year, Chef RominaLugaresi was declared as the winner of the Best Italian and Modern European Cuisine Top Chef Award by the Delhi Gourmet Club, which highlights her expertise in Italian cuisine. Artusi also has a comprehensive collection of exquisite Italian and French wines and spirits.
Ambience–The place has a sophisticated, yet familial ambience. You will notice the simple, yet finely crafted wooden furniture and interiors, which instantly take you in a different world. You are also bound to fall in love with the beautiful tableware and decorative pieces, which are sourced from Deruta, a small hill town in Italy, famous for its ceramics. You can also explore the temperature-controlled pasta room, a one of a kind installation, where several different types of pastas are hand made by the Chef’s team. The restaurant is frequented by the expat population and during nights, the atmosphere gets quite exciting and cheerful.
Service – The staff has in-depth knowledge about the various food items listed on the menu. They can also help you choose the right type of wine to go with your food. The hotel management will always be there with you to ensure the best fine dine experience.
