What Men Think Is Romantic, But Isn’t

Some men will go the extra mile to express their love and affection, but it may not always work as expected. That’s because things that men think as romantic may not actually be perceived likewise by their partner. Here are some common things that men think are romantic, but it isn’t in reality.

Say it with flowers: Men usually assume that women like flowers and can be influenced with it. Gifting flowers sometimes may be okay, but if a man is bringing flowers to every date and every meeting, it may be frowned upon.

Fighting with others: A man might pick up a fight with another man, just to show their love for you. Even though such behavior is common among several other species, a physical fight for a mate among humans needs to be avoided. It essentiallyreflectsimmaturity and lack of faith in the relationship.

Trying to be there all the time: People in fledging relationships like to spend time together, but giving adequate space is also necessary. If a man tries to be in constant communication with their partner, it might come across as being desperate or clingy. Such behavior may smother the relationship rather than help it to blossom.

Giving surprises: It is another of man’s assumption that women like surprises. This may or may not be true depending on the individual. Also, surprises can be unnerving if they happen during the initial stages of a relationship. Men should avoid imposing theirbeliefs on their partners.

Love letters: Some men believe that writing love letters is a true expression of love even in the age of information technology. With this belief, they end up writing long love letters stretching into several pages. This may not work in every relationship, as the other person may not be impressed with such gushy notes.

Teasing their partner: There is a perception among men that teasing your partner is a sign of a healthy relationship. Teasing someone may have been okay as a kid, but it may cause hurt or insult in case of adults.

Romance is the fire that keeps a relationship alive, but just like everything else, too much of it can feel overwhelming. Whatever you do, try not to make it a routine. And don’t be overly expressive of your love and affection. If two people share the right chemistry, they will click naturally without the need to prove anything. So hold your horses, sit back and relax and enjoy the moment.
