The execution-style killing was carried out in Southlake, Texas. It is believed that Jose has been involved in several other murders in Mexico as well. He currently has a reward of $1 million announced by United States Department of State’s Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program. It is believed that Jose is currently hiding in Mexico.

Rafael Caro Quintero – A Mexican drug lord, Rafael Caro Quintero is said to be the co-founder of the Guadalajara Cartel. It is alleged that he currently leads the Caborca Cartel that operates from Sonora. In US, Quintero is wanted for the kidnapping and murder of four people including Enrique Camarena Salazar, a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent. The other victims included John Clay Walker, Alfredo Zavala Avelar, and Alberto Radelat. FBI has a reward of $20 million for any information that can help capture Rafael Caro Quintero. This is the highest reward in the current list of FBI’s most wanted criminals.
