SKM Government’s State-wide ‘Jan Bharosa Sammelan’ commences from Soreng district

New Delhi, Feb 26: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang attended the inaugural ‘Jan Bharosa Sammelan’ organised by the Rural Development Department (RDD) at Jautar, Soreng district today.

Jan Bharosa Sammelan is a three day programme from February 26 during which government welfare schemes, financial grants, service regularisation memorandums, new job appointment orders and other benefits are being distributed to thousands of beneficiaries in all the six districts by the Chief Minister.

The ‘Jan Bharosa Sammelan’ drive organised by the Rural Development department sees CM PS Tamang reaching out to the people of all the 32 constituencies in three days.

The first programme today at Soreng had the presence of Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, MP Lok Sabha, Advisors and Chairpersons, Panchayats, former Ministers, Secretaries, DC Soreng, SP Soreng, and other dignitaries along with a huge gathering of beneficiaries.

Warmly welcoming the gathered audience, CM Tamang termed the day to be historic for Soreng District to witness the first ‘Jan Bharosa Sammelan’ programme.

Congratulating all present, he stated that the district creation was one of the biggest developments to the public of Soreng as it made governance at their door-step and more accessible. He assured that the Government has left no stones unturned to provide benefits to its people, especially for the marginalised section. Furthermore, he said that the benefits which were given today testifies Government’s efforts to strengthen economic and financial aspirations of the people and also asked to avail all benefits of these schemes.

Simultaneously, he enumerated various Government assets that were inaugurated today while dedicating them to the people’s benefit. Furthermore, he also acknowledged the efforts made by all respective departments and contractors on the timely completion of the projects.

Additionally, he also stressed on the ‘Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana’ wherein he apprised that one thousand Aama (mothers) from each constituency will be receiving Rupees forty thousand per year in two instalments from the scheme. He also touched upon the ‘Aama Sahayog Yojana’ wherein beneficiaries will avail 4 LPG cylinders per year at free of cost. He also spoke about other schemes such as the Sikkim Urban Garib Aawas Yojana (SUGAY) and Sikkim Garib Aawas Yojana (SGAY).

Similarly, he highlighted several developmental schemes such as house upgradation, distribution of inverters and metal roofing sheet (GI sheet), construction of homestays for interested entrepreneurs (only traditional model homestays of Bhutia, Lepcha and Nepali).

In his speech today, he made a special announcement of ‘Sikkim Sisu Samriddhi Yojana’ as part of the State Government’s widely acknowledged scheme ‘Mero Rukh, Mero Santati’ (MRMS) wherein he informed that for every newborn after being registered under the MRMS, the Government will deposit a fixed amount of Rupees Ten Thousand and Eight Hundred till the child attains the age of 18.

To mark the occasion, the Chief Minister distributed the following token to beneficiaries under respective departments, namely;

1. Mega Home Stay under Tourism Department

2. Power Tiller, Irrigation facilities to Tribal People and Green House under Social Welfare Department

3. Sikkim Garib Aawas Yojana (SGAY), GIC Sheet, Inverters, House upgradation under RDD

4. Sikkim Urban Garib Aawas Yojana (SUGAY) under RDD

5. Skilled Youth Startup Scheme (SYSS) under Commerce ad Industries Department

6. Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana under Women and Child Welfare Department

7. Sustainable Socio- Economic Development of Gurung Community through dairy farming funded by North East Council, Ministry of DoNER, Government of India

In a unique approach to make learning more interactive and informative, different government schools in the district under the ‘Reading Corner’ initiative were given various books along with ‘The Handbook on Menstrual Hygiene Management’, self-written book by DC Soreng Yishey D Yongda .
